What do you charge for your graphic design services?

Prices depend on many variables but you can be sure that the money you're paying is for high-quality, uncompromised work. You won't find that with some of our other freelance competitors. We encourage prospective clients to compare Darwin-Design with other freelance designers producing the same level of work. If you would like us to give you an estimate, contact us today.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept payment via business or personal check including Visa or MasterCard via PayPal.

Checks should be made payable to John Allen. As a freelancer, the Internal Revenue Service classifies me as an independent contractor, therefore your business should submit a 1099 form for my services.

What is the client's involvement in the design process?

A thoroughly discussion of the project at hand with our client takes place from the beginning. I am available evenings and weekends to work on your projects. After contact is made via e-mail, we can discuss your project by telephone. I encourage the client to send any samples, color combinations, ideas or themes they may have. During the design process, the client is asked to approve certain steps before work continues. At the conclusion of a project, the client may request the artwork in various formats.

How do I check on the progress of my job during the design process?

The client is kept abreast of the progress of their job through our approval process. We present the project to the client at certain stages, or steps, and wait for approval before work continues. We find that this process keeps the client involved and prevents any breakdowns in communication. In between these steps, the client is free to call in to get an update.

How will I receive my design project once it is finished?

A finished project is yours upon receipt of final payment. At your request, we will supply the electronic files to you on CD, floppy disk, or via e-mail. We also keep a copy of your project on file for later updates or should you lose your copy.

Who owns the copyright for work Darwin-Design has done for me?

Copyright is yours upon receipt of final payment. I do, however, reserve the right to use any work for promotional purposes such as my portfolio.

How does your logo design process work?

We first discuss the client's needs, goals, and use for this logo. We then ask for samples of existing logos that the client likes or dislikes to get an idea of their taste. Sometimes the client already has a design concept in mind. Other times, they have no idea what they want. My logo design service is very flexible. If you'd like to see only a few concepts or if you need many, service can be priced according to your needs.

I need something designed yesterday. Can you help me?

Depends. I can usually accommodate your rush job depending on how full my production schedule is. To be fair to other clients, if a job already in production is interrupted by a rush job, we reserve the right to add an additional 50% – 100% on top of the normal price.
